Contact you unsolicited via personal WhatsApp or Telegram, promise guaranteed returns or VIP tips, ask for payments to personal UPI IDs or unofficial bank accounts, or request your trading login credentials under any circumstances.
- Unsolicited invitations: Messages or links inviting you to WhatsApp or Telegram groups offering “VIP” trading tips, free courses, or guaranteed profit schemes.
- Fake profiles: Fraudulent social media identities impersonating We Capitalize, Gowtham Kumaresh, or other market experts and RA representatives.
- Impersonations: Persons masquerading as SEBI-registered intermediaries, well-known market personalities, or public figures to gain investor trust.
- Fake testimonials: Fabricated success stories, screenshots of alleged profits, or forged account statements used to lure investors into transferring funds with false promises of high returns.
4. How to Protect Yourself

- Obtain your RA's official email and contact details from SEBI's listing, and initiate all communication using the official email only. If you receive communication from an unrecognised or personal email address, disregard it as a potential scam.
- Never make payments to personal UPI IDs, unofficial bank accounts, or unverified third-party payment links.
- Always make payments after verifying details through the SEBI Check platform, to a valid UPI ID, or through the Centralised Fee Collection Mechanism (CeFCoM) for Research Analysts.
- Carry out transactions only through authentic trading apps of SEBI-registered intermediaries after verification on the SEBI Investor Support portal.
